CORNER STONE OF THE COMMUNITY

International experience has shown that at any given time, of the people who need health care only 4% need hospital treatment and 92% can be treated in the community. The remainder do not seek medical treatment.

In its first purpose built community medical unit, Charter Medical Group in Dublin’s Smithfield has taken high end medical diagnostics and Consultant run medical services normally only found in hospitals and has firmly placed them in an efficient patient friendly non hospital unit.

Since its inception 18 months ago, Charter has a fully functioning Radiology Department with state of the art MRI, CT, Dexa, Ultrasound and X-Ray. The Radiology Dept forms the corner stone of the services provided at this Unit. Patients are offered appointments within 72 hours. This is in contrast to the present 18 month wait experienced by some hospital patients. Charter not only services the Radiology needs of the NTPF and offers highly discounted rates to medical card patients (permitting access to its services to all) but it is an approved provider by all 3 Irish health insurer.

An exclusive arrangement has been formulated between Charter Medical Group and Vivas Health to provide a cervical cancer vaccine to Vivas Health members at a discounted rate. They are the only insurer in Ireland to offer this benefit. The normal price is €610 but Vivas Health will contribute €250 towards the vaccination. The final cost to members is €360.

Charter, using a range of Consultant Doctors in Senior Care and with the aid of its advanced level diagnostics can offer timely access for older citizens to expert medical attention. Charter offers a GP referred Rapid Access Service Senior Care.
