Urgent Eye Care

Charter Medical Group has launched an urgent eye care clinic. The clinic offers patients same-day appointments Monday to Friday, patients can be seen with or without a referral letter.

 

What is Urgent Eye Care?

  • Urgent Eye Care Clinic is our pioneering alternative to the eye casualty departments where you can access fast, efficient urgent care for acute eye problems.

  • Urgent Eye Care Clinic is supported by other facilities in Charter Medical including a radiology department (CT, MRI and ultrasound), laboratory, physician and a pharmacy.

      • Minor Eye Trauma

      • Sudden Blurred Vision

  • Glaucoma Screening

  • Eye Examination in Diabetics

  • Vision Testing and Screening for school children

  • Minor Surgical Procedures under Local Anaesthesia:

      • Lid cysts incision and curettage

      • Removal of corneal foreign bodies

 

Staff:

The services or Urgent Eye Care Clinic are provided by experienced ophthalmologists who are on the Specialist Register of the Irish Medical Council.

Fees:

  • New patients with or without referral letter: €115

  • Children under 16 years: €100

  • GMS patients are accepted once pre approved by the HSE. For those GMS patients that do not wish to wait for approval from their local health authority the fee is €85. Please call 6579000 for further information and our patient liaison staff will talk you through the process. There is no fee for a patients first review visit and for subsequent review visits the fee may vary.

 

Your eye examination may involve the use of drops that will dilate the pupils. Driving after the use of these drops is not recommended.
